That is the question.
While Finlay Park was once the place to host Cola concerts + festivals in the ‘90s and early 2000s, it’s taken a turn in the opposite direction – neglected facilities have led to less publicized events with lower attendance.
However, the South Carolina Shakespeare Company remains loyal to Finlay Park’s amphitheatre. In a continued effort to revitalize Finlay’s livelihood, they will perform The Imaginary Invalid, a Shakespeare theatrical classic, on April 20-22 + 26-29 at 8 p.m. in the park. (It’s free + BYOChairs.)
SCSC’s outdoor plays mimic the renowned public performances of Shakespeare in the Park at Central Park in NYC.
This fall marks SCSC’s 25th anniversary season, but further details are on hold due to Finlay’s possible revamp. Fingers crossed.
