  • Cola’s been no stranger to weekend rain in 2023, but the forecast for Friday, June 2-Sunday, June 4 appears clear. Expect highs around 84° and partly cloudy skies.
Theater
  • Director Lina Khoury and the South Carolina Shakespeare Company presents William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” for six free nights beginning Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Icehouse Amphitheater in Lexington. Bring a blanket and picnic for these showings.
Watch
  • The Nickelodeon Theatre now offers Open Captions (captions on screen) on screenings on Tuesday evenings at 7 and 7:30 p.m. The nonprofit independent theatre will also begin hosting Saturday early matinee screenings at 12:30 and 1 p.m. Secure your tickets.

Fun fact: Although it’s called the “Quad Cities,” there are more than four towns in this region. But which are the main four? That can get... contentious. The oldest original “Tri Cities” were Davenport, Moline, and Rock Island. Later came East Moline, but then Bettendorf overtook it in size. People tried calling it the “Quint Cities” at one point, but it never caught on (even though the website still lists all five).
