Come along with me and discover some of Sarasota’s best offerings for your next weekend getaway.
  • Why go? This town, located about an hour south of Tampa, is known for its white-sand beaches, including the popular Siesta Key, Lido Key, and my personal favorite, Brohard Paw Park, where dogs can run free and swim in the ocean.
  • Act like a local: With 37 miles of open shoreline, there’s a plethora of fresh seafood restaurants. Get dressed up and try Indigenous, a sustainable seafood restaurant run by James Beard semifinalist Steve Phelps.
  • Where to stay: Lido Beach Walk, just one block from the Gulf of Mexico on Lido Key. (~$125/night)
