Live music, local eats, and history come together at this free, family-friendly celebration in downtown Columbia.
Historic Columbia’s 47th annual Jubilee Festival returns Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with performances headlined by LADY STOUT, plus sets from Preach Jacobs & The Negro League, Chukk Gregory, Cr3Wizdom, and Sir Chance.
It’s all happening outdoors at the Mann-Simons Site in downtown Columbia, with free tours + history bus rides, along with cultural demonstrations like sweetgrass basket weaving, local vendors to browse, and plenty of food to dig into.
The Kids Zone features robotics, face painting, free books, and visits from SCETV’s Smart Cat and Gordon the Purple Yam. Interested in lending a helping hand? Volunteer slots are still available.
The Fireflies need your cheers tonight with the championship on the line. Columbia fell 6-5 in extra innings to Lynchburg in Game One of the Carolina League Championship Series. Game Two is tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Segra Park — and if they win, Game Three is Wednesday.

Take a look inside the new Rosewood (Mini) Market, which will offer a lot of the same health-focused favorites you’ll find at the Rosewood location.

I spent the afternoon working at Piecewise Coffee on Devine Street, and even though it’s PSL season, I held onto the last days of summer by ordering an iced Honeysuckle latte. It’s a nice afternoon sweet treat and just enough caffeine to give me a little pep through the end of the day.
