• A six-story hotel may be coming to Columbia. The potential hotel, planned by AGS Columbia LLC, proposed the location be at the southwest corner of Hampton and Wayne streets, near Memorial Park. More details to come about this project, but you can read more about it here. 🏨 (The State)

• 325. The number of shoes given to students at JP Thomas Elementary. Samaritan’s Feet, Coca-Cola Consolidated, and volunteers partnered to fit children with shoes. Each child left with a ‘Hope Tote’ — a bag filled with their new shoes, socks, a hygiene kit, and an encouraging note. 👟 (Cola Daily)

• The Five Points District is hosting a “Big Kid” Trick-or-Treat and Spooky Shop Crawl on Halloween, beginning at 5 p.m. Participate in the costume contest beginning at 6:45 p.m. DJ Voodoo Child will be playing tunes from the Five Points Fountain. 🍬

• James Jude Courtney — aka Michael Myers from the Halloween movies — is partnering with Harvest Hope Food Bank to support a food drive running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today. Drop by KJs Market IGA (2349 Augusta Rd.) with non-perishable food items to donate and meet the actor. (WIS)

• The Gamecocks will play Missouri at home for homecoming but will hit the road next weekend (Nov. 5) and play Vanderbilt. The game time is set for 7:30 p.m., making this the sixth night game this season. 🏈
