Explore South Carolina State Museum’s first-ever online collection database

The South Carolina State Museum‘s art collection (think: 4,500+ pieces of fine and folk art, historic and modern pottery, ceramics, and more) is now available to explore online for the first time.
This project, made possible with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ (IMLS) Museums for America grant and the South Carolina State Legislature, has been years in the making.
While the online database is currently limited to works of art, the majority of the museum’s collections will be added in time for SCSM’s 35th anniversary in November.
The Reggie Sullivan Band, Billy Joel tribute band Turnstiles, and R&B artist Meli’sa Morgan will headline the inaugural Meeting Street Music Fest on Saturday, September 16. The free event taking place on the 500-700 blocks of Meeting Street will happen from 4-8 p.m.

We talked about our favorite local fries and mine are Rockaway’s fries with the pimento cheese on the side. I like to dip the fry and then put the pickled jalapeno ring on the end. Sam’s favorite are River Rat’s truffle fries. I’m in the boat that even a bad french fry is still pretty good.
