  • Did you know the first American-style football exhibition game played in the Lowcountry was in December 1892? Furman University played the first team ever fielded by South Carolina College (USC) on Christmas Eve when two teams of eleven college men scrimmaged at Charleston’s Baseball Park. (CCPL)
