News Notes

Ranked

Columbia is the No. 32 best state capitol to live in, according to a new WalletHub ranking. The ranking compared all 50 state capitols while looking into factors like economic well-being, education, and health care — which you can learn more about in our Cola 101 guide.

Drink

Spirits sales are down by 1.1% — with one exception. Tequila sales are up by 2.9%. As good an excuse as any for National Margarita Day today (and our approved margarita spots).

Pet

French Bulldogs are the most popular breed of dog in America, according to Visual Capitalist. Whether you’re a Frenchie fan or a Labrador lover, Pawmetto Lifeline has plenty of adoptable pets worth your affection — including Sunny, an 11-month-old hound that loves to play.

Eat

Are you heading to Chick-fil-A this weekend? You’re not alone. The restaurant is the top-rated fast food chain in SC. Just don’t forget to show our local chicken spots some love, too — we recommend Bernie’s Chicken. (Brilliantmaps.com)

Sports

The Carolina Hurricanes are on a 26 game sprint to the NHL playoffs. Go beyond the scoreboard and behind the scenes of the Hurricanes with Locked On’s daily, team-focused podcasts.
