Rosewood (mini) Market is now open at the corner for Main and Blossom streets. | Photo by COLAtoday
The shelves were half full at the new Rosewood (mini) Market when I stopped by for a preview on Wednesday night, but with a major shipment arriving on Thursday, the store will be ready to open. The current hours are Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Once the brown paper comes down, the bodega-style market’s windows will give passersby a peek inside — from leafy plants to local staples and healthy grab-and-go options.
Now that road construction on South Main Street is complete, the market is just a pedestrian-friendly walk across the State House grounds from downtown — and a convenient stop for thousands of USC students living in nearby dorms and apartments.

Azalea Coffee Bar is growing — but not by opening a second location, at least not yet. Instead, the neighborhood café on Devine Street is adding ~1,000 sqft to the back of its current space, making room for a kitchen and more seating.
The owners say they considered a second shop, but ultimately chose to reinvest in the place they call home — “If we love Devine so much, why not just grow here?”
There’s no construction timeline yet, but they teased more upcoming news with emojis of a bagel, a basketball player, a TV, and a glass of wine.
Since opening in 2021, Azalea has built a loyal following by creating a welcoming space and collaborating with local women- and minority-owned businesses.
