Fashion refresh made easy with Clothes Mentor’s Personal Shopper

Wide shot of picks from the Personal Shopper

Hey, COLA — Michaela here. 👋 I recently stopped by Clothes Mentor to get a wardrobe refresh for the fall season (which officially starts tomorrow). As fun as shopping is, it can sometimes be overwhelming with so many options to choose from — so I opted to try the Personal Shopper option, which puts it on Clothes Mentor’s fashion experts to pre-select an array of clothing items based on your answers to a quiz.

I’m excited to show you how they did:

    What we tried (with pricing):

A few days before heading to the store, I took a Personal Shopper Quiz (it takes less than ~60 seconds) to answer questions describing my style, explaining what kind of clothing I was looking for, and to let the shopper know my sizes.

The Personal Shopper option — which is free — made such a difference. When I got to the store, the dressing room was filled with really cute pieces that fit my style to a tee. My personal shopper, Katie, did a great job using my feedback in the quiz to pick pieces that were just what I was looking for.

Want to see what I purchased? Keep reading to see how Clothes Mentor got me ready for fall.*

    WECO sign removal

On Tuesday morning, local sign company Flagship Signs removed the WECO sign (along with the pool balls) to be refurbished. For the next six to eight weeks expect to see a temporary sign that reads “I’ll be back.”

Sparks flew as the crew removed the rusted bolts with a torch shortly before it was lifted off by a crane. A small crowd gathered to watch and held their collective breath as the sign slowly made its way to the ground.

Once repairs are complete, Riggs Partners and the City of West Columbia will host a ceremony + light up the new sign featuring new LED lights, updated verbiage, and a polished new look.
    THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by David.

Editor’s pick: When I got married in April, Life Raft Treats out of Charleston created a special 6-foot ice cream sub sandwich for our wedding cake. Owner, Cynthia Wong, a six-time James Beard Foundation Award, reinvents items like chicken wings and peaches and creates delicious ice cream art. This weekend they’ll be at Soda City Market, so be sure to stop in and grab some “not fried chicken.”
