The three buildings at 102 W. Main Street in downtown Lexington are now fully leased. Last November, we wrote an article about Lexington’s growth, sharing information about the announcement of Moltó Vino + TakoSushi. At the time, a third tenant was still to be determined.
All three tenants are expected to open sometime this year. The prime Lexington location will feature a new exterior, landscaping, patio space, and a parking lot.

Cocky gazes at Dawn Staley as she speaks to the crowd at the 2022 National Championship parade in downtown Columbia. | Photo by COLAtoday
In case you missed the announcement last year, Dawn Staley — a legendary basketball player, coach, gold medalist, and current head coach of the undefeated USC women’s basketball team — will receive a bronze statue, commissioned by Statues for Equality.
Staley’s contribution to women’s basketball + her advocacy for social issues earned her the recognition. Read her bio for more on her legendary career, and hear what she had to say about the honor when she sat down with College Game Day over the weekend after the win over Georgia.
The statue will sit on the corner of Gervais and Main Streets, across the street from the State House, and will be paid for by private donations + Statues for Equality.
Coach Staley will have final approval on the design, with casting expected to take 10 to 12 months. This will be the third Gamecock legend statue, following the unveiling of A’ja Wilson’s in 2021 + George Rogers’ in 2015.
