City Editor David here. Last week, while grabbing lunch at Enzo’s in The Mills, I found myself in the midst of move-in season. Mid-August is a special time in Cola; with thousands of new young residents downtown, there’s always a fresh, buzzing energy in the city. It’s also a sign that football season’s almost here.

Soda City FC, Columbia’s semi-professional soccer team, are the UPSL National Champions after defeating Inland Empire FC 3-2 on Sunday. The win secured the team a spot in the 2025 Open Cup.
Coming Soon
Surcheros — a fast, casual fresh Mexican restaurant — is coming soon to Forest Acres. The new location is the first of four planned for Columbia over the next few years. The opening timeline could be as soon as November. Read more food news. (The State)
