Development

A new Target will anchor a shopping center in Lexington at 2552 Augusta Hwy., just steps from Lexington High School. The plaza, developed by 4-13 Solutions — co-owned by former Dallas Cowboys star Emmitt Smith — is set to open in fall 2026. Residents shared excitement + concern about traffic impacts. (WLTX)

ESPN’s “College GameDay” is coming to Colonial Life Arena for the Gamecocks vs. UConn women’s basketball game on Sunday, Feb. 16. The pregame show airs at 11 a.m. ahead of the 1 p.m. tipoff on ABC. This marks their first matchup since USC’s 2022 national championship win over UConn.

Speaking of Super Bowl champions, Lower Richland High’s Richard Seymour is set to be inducted into the SC Athletic Hall of Fame alongside World Cup standout Clint Dempsey, Coastal Carolina baseball coach Gary Gilmore, USC’s Landon Powell, and WNBA All-Star Shannon Johnson.
