Jimador Real Mexican Cuisine will take over the recently closed TakoSushi space on Forest Drive. Part of the El Jimador chain, the new spot will join the Lowes Foods anchored shopping center. An opening date hasn’t been announced.

The SC State Museum has commissioned renowned Gullah artist Corey Alston to create a large-scale sweetgrass basket honoring Gullah Geechee heritage. The fifth-generation weaver plans to complete the piece by February as part of the museum’s folk art collection expansion.

If your K-Pop knowledge starts and ends with “I’ve heard of BTS,” here’s your chance to see what the hype is about. The Korean Festival returns from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 to the 1400 block of Richland Street, featuring a live K-Pop showdown throughout the day.
Since 2005, it has grown into a full-day cultural celebration featuring Samulnori, traditional fan dances, taekwondo, and a Korean wedding ceremony on stage. The food alone is worth the trip, with a menu is filled with Korean corn dogs, fish-shaped buns, bibimbop, kimchi jeon, and So Tteok So Tteok (sausage + rice cake skewers).
Proceeds benefit local charities and community programs.
