Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) announced that Allegiant Air, a Las Vegas-based integrated travel company + airline, is expanding its service with 44 new nonstop routes, including 11 routes to three new cities — one of which will be Columbia. Beginning this spring, look forward to new nonstop routes to Florida.

New routes

Daytona Beach/Sanford, Florida via Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB)
  • Date: Flights beginning May 15
  • Fares: One-way fares begin at $39.
Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Florida via Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
  • Date: Flights beginning May 22
  • Fares: One-way fares begin at $49.

Development

A 100-year-old grammar school in Cayce will be transformed into a new residential development: Hattie’s Crossing — adding 12 homes to the area. The new development will be named for Miss Hattie Derrenbacher, coined as the first teacher in Cayce. (WLTX)

Festival

The St. Pat’s in Five Points festival will return on Saturday, March 15 + you can grab half-off tickets for $15 (regularly $30) at midnight on Black Friday, Nov. 29. The sale will run until 11:59 p.m. on Cyber Monday, Dec. 2. Pro tip: you can also grab a discounted rate for the Get to the Green race.

Announced
