It’s official. A new City of Columbia flag was adopted Tuesday night – after ~3 years of discussions – and will be made official at the next city council meeting.
The new design, which features streaks of white and blue + a six point star in the corner, was created by local design group The Half and Half (who is also behind designs for The War Mouth, Bluetile Skateshop, Forrest Clonts Photography + more). Click here to see what the design represents.
And #TBT to when Mayor Benjamin wrote about Columbia needing a new flag for us back in 2017 – and announced the initial flag design competition (which garnered 500+ submissions).
City council voted between 14 final designs from 5 different designers that were found during their new search that began last year. See what the winning design was up against here .
