It’s always sunny in CAE

Columbia’s airport (code CAE) will be the first in S.C. to utilize solar power once they connect to their $2.5 million solar farm to the solar energy grid in May or June.

The solar farm (visible from the runways) consists of 4,368 3x6 ft. panels, installed last October.

CAE will make up for the $2.5M spent on the project in money saved from power expenses in 10 years. After those 10 years, they’ll make ~$1.8 million over the next 20 years.
