We’re making a new (school) year’s resolution: Make it to more local plays and musicals.

Want to join us? Let’s start with Columbia’s — make that the country’s — oldest continuously operating community theatre. Town Theatre, located right downtown at 1012 Sumter St., has planned its 106th season with audiences of all ages in mind.

Mark your calendar for:

  • Season opener “Kiss Me, Kate,” running Sept. 12-28
  • Holiday classic “A Christmas Carol: The Musical,” Dec. 5-21
  • Comedic thriller “Over My Dead Body” (calling all “Only Murders in the Building” fans) in January
  • Enchanting spring musical “The Secret Garden,” hitting the stage in March
  • Cult favorite “Little Shop of Horrors,” closing out the season + kicking off the summer

Pro tip: Want the best seats and special savings? Town members know how to enjoy theatre to its fullest.
