Escape room lovers, this one’s for you.
Last month, the South Carolina State Museum opened a brand new exhibit: The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes – which gives visitors a chance to try their hand at solving a murder mystery. And we gave it our best attempt…
The start of the exhibit begins with actual props and costumes from the Warner Bros.’ Sherlock Holmes movies, CBS television show Elementary + the BBC’s Sherlock – along with a short video.
Once you’re finished perusing those items, you’ll grab your detective notebook and head into a room filled with lots of items (100+ objects and artifacts, including original manuscripts) from the life of Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – as well as get some practice on how to use your detective notebook before you enter the crime scene.
DYK his fictional character Sherlock Holmes actually changed the way police work was conducted in the late 1800s – which led the way to the modern forensics of today.
When you enter the most interactive part of the exhibit, it’s your time to shine: putting your Netflix murder documentaries knowledge to the test. You’ll recevie your murder mystery to solve – along with several clues to help, go over police reports, watch different blood spatter outcomes, look over the crime scene + more, before you present your prediction of what happened and then find out the actual story.
