Memorial Day weekend starts tomorrow + based on the forecast, we’re going to be looking for ways to cool off while we relax. Lucky for us Soda Citizens, City of Columbia outdoor pools are reopening for the season this Saturday, May 29.

We’ve put together a list of 20 pools, splash pads, lakes, and water parks in and around Columbia that are open to the public. If you haven’t quite nailed down your plans for this weekend (and want to stay cool but venture outside) take a look below for a little water inspiration. ⬇️

Pools

Drew Wellness Center, 2101 Walker Solomon Way | A competition-size, indoor pool with year-round swimming lessons, water aerobics, lap swimming, and recreational swim.

  • Hours: 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays, 2-6 p.m. Sundays
    • Closed Memorial Day
  • Price: $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for youth (memberships available)

Greenview Pool, 6700 David St. | A pool, waterslides, and a zero-depth splash pad.

  • Hours: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tues.-Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays (10 a.m.-7 p.m. on opening day), 2-6 p.m. Sundays

    • Closed Mondays

Maxcy Gregg Park, 1655 Park Circle | An Olympic-sized pool.

  • Hours: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays (10 a.m.-7 p.m. on opening day), 2-6 p.m. Sundays

    • Closed Fridays

St. Andrews Park Pool, 920 Beatty Rd. | A Richland County public pool.

Lakes + Rivers

Dreher Island State Park, 3677 State Park Rd., Prosperity | Dreher Island State Park spans three islands totalling 348 acres and providing access to 12 miles of Lake Murray shoreline.

  • Hours: Dawn to dusk, daily
  • Price: $3 for adults, $1.50 for seniors, $1 for children (ages 6-15)
    • Free for ages 5 and under

Lake Wateree State Park, 881 State Park Rd., Winnsboro | Are you ready to swim with the fishies? Lake Wateree hosts many fishing tournaments throughout the year on the 13,800 acres you can access through the state park.

  • Hours: Sunrise to sunset, daily
  • Price: $3 for adults, $1.50 for seniors, $1 for children (ages 6-15)
    • Free for ages 5 and under

Sesquicentennial State Park, 9564 Two Notch Rd. | Stand up paddle boarding, peddle boat rentals, a splash pad, and more.

  • Hours: 8 a.m.-6 p.m., daily
  • Price: $6 for adults, $3.75 for seniors, $3.50 for children (ages 6-15)
    • Free for ages 5 and under

Water Parks

Saluda Splash, 5605 Bush River Rd. | A play area with spouts, misting circles + water cannons.

  • Hours: 3-6 p.m. Tue.-Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Sundays
    • Closed on Mondays
  • Price: $3 per person + $5 parking fee (Splash Pass available)

Waterfall Junction at Riverbanks, 500 Wildlife Pkwy. | A 25-foot cascading waterfall and splash zones, a life-size replica of T-Rex + giant tree houses.

  • Hours: Open during zoo hours
    • Water features turn off 15 minutes prior to closing
  • Price: Entry included with general admission
