The countdown is on. There are T-minus three months until Cola kiddos say “sayonara” to school until autumn. Don’t panic, parents. We’ve got you covered with 12 local summer camps + programs for children of all ages to enjoy.

🎨 Art

  • The Columbia Museum of Art, 1515 Main St. | Spark your child’s creativity with one of the summer programs offered to introduce your child to the world of arts. Deadlines vary and we encourage you to register soon. | Ages 4-18

🎽 Athletics

  • Dawn Staley Basketball Academy, UofSC Athletics Facilities | Gamecocks Hall of Fame coach teaches the fundamentals of the game + player development. | Grades 1st-12th grade

🍳 Cook

  • Flour Power Kids Cooking Studio, 4517 Forest Dr. | If your child is hungry to spend more time in the kitchen they’ll have the option to learn the basics of baking and cooking techniques.

📜Learn

  • Historic Columbia, 1616 Blanding St. | History comes to life with the exploration of the gardens, grounds + houses of some of Columbia’s most historic properties. | Ages 8-12

🎶 Music

  • COLAJazz Camp, 5637 Bush River Rd. | An immersive jazz experience for kids of all skill levels that culminates with a performance at the Koger Center for the Arts. | All ages

  • YMCA Columbia, 1447 Hampton St. | Each Midlands YMCA location offers programs based around friendship, fun, adventure + field trips. | Ages 5-12
  • Columbia Sailing Club, 292 Shuler Rd. | A variety of courses teach you the boating basics, from rigging a boat to powerboat handling skills for teenagers. | Ages 4-17
  • Richland County Recreation Commission — Summer Mania Camps, various parks | Kids will have the opportunity to play games, make arts and crafts, and participate in conservation activities. | Ages 5-12
  • South Carolina State Museum, 301 Gervais St. | These week-long camps cover a variety of subjects including natural history, astronomy, art, STEAM, and others. | Ages 6-12
  • Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission — Summer Safari, various parks | Registration for Summer Safari opens April 1, where children have access to a safe, nurturing environment and a variety of educational, social, and recreational opportunities. | Grades K-6th
  • Heathwood Hall Summer Programs, 3000 South Beltline Blvd. | Heathwood Hall offers an extensive list of summer programs that focus on STEM, sports, arts + crafts, academic enrichment, and adventure, all while mindful of supporting their physical, social, and emotional growth. | Grades K-12th
  • Girl Scouts of South Carolina — Mountains to Midlands,1107 Williams St. | The summer camp focuses on the Girl Scout pillars: Outdoors, STEM, life skills + entrepreneurship. Activities include: hiking explorations, aquatics fun, and sessions on art and design.
  • Shandon Weekday School, 607 Woodrow St. | Whether you’re looking for full or part-day summer camps, Shandon Weekday School offers both. Camps feature outdoor activities, art, scavenger hunts, science experiments, field trips + more. | Grades K-8th
  • CREATEng, Lexington Technology Center 2421 Augusta Hwy. | Using the Destination SPACE, Inc. curriculum, your student will be introduced to weather, climatology, space weather, and satellite science and engineering. | Open to rising 7th-9th graders
