Approval was given for a complete makeover of Boyd Plaza (the area in front of Columbia Museum of Art) to make it an easier space for the public to use every day of the year. The project will be completely funded by the Susan Boyd Foundation + construction is said to begin Summer 2018.

Here are some of the renovation details:

    • Two new pavilions – one fully covered, with a skylight + canvas walls (to roll down during bad weather), and the other with a trellis roof + elevated, to be used for performances + to show movies
    • A fountain will be removed in order to build one of the pavillions – but the large fountain (closest to Main St.) will remain, with changes made to the base
    • Amphitheatre will be removed + replaced with trees
    • Main Street Ice skating rink will be permanently relocated – new location still TBD
