New Year’s Resolution that we didn’t know we had until now? Save on our Uber rides in 2019.

COMET announced last week that they’re partnering with Uber + Lyft to subsidize up to $5 of your trips that start + end in COMET fixed-route service areas. There are two programs that are available:

🌙 COMET @ Night | 7 days a week, 9 p.m.-3 a.m. | 📲 Apply the promo code available inside of COMET buses to get the up to $5 discount. You cover any charges over $5.

🛒 COMET To The Market | 7 days a week, 6 a.m.-10 p.m. | 📲 Apply the promo code COMETMARKET18. The code can only be used twice a week (one round trip) per passenger. You cover any charges over $5.

Why is this cool (...other than the cheaper rides, obviously)? The programs allow easier access to COMET’s public transportation services + expand their network capacity of public transportation in the greater Midlands area.

The trip must originate or end at all locations of the following markets or groceries (within the fixed-route COMET service areas):

  • Walmart & Walmart Neighborhood Market
  • BiLo
  • Kroger
  • The Fresh Market
  • Whole Foods Market
  • Aldi
  • Blossom Shop in Five Points
  • Food Lion
  • Gourmet Shoppe in Five Points
  • La Estrella Supermarket
  • Lowes Foods Forest Acres
  • Ole Timey Meat Market
  • Piggly Wiggly
  • Publix
  • Rosewood Market & Deli
  • Sam’s Club
  • Costco
  • Save-A-Lot
  • S.C. State Farmers Market
  • Target
  • Trader Joe’s
  • Earth Fare
  • Supermercado El Mariachi
  • Soda City Market (Saturdays only)

Here’s a map of COMET’s fixed-route service area – a.k.a the areas where you can utilize both discount codes:

If you’re like me (sometimes deterred from Soda City on Saturdays due to lack of parking), you should be pumped for COMET To the Market. A ride from my home in Shandon to Soda City Market is ~$8 without the promo code, but I can get my avocado toast fix now for $3 on Saturday mornings.

How will you use COMET + Uber’s newest partnership to get you around Soda City for less? Reply to this email or comment on our Instagram or Facebook posts to let us know.
