Got eclipse glasses? 🕶

Total Solar Eclipse

Screenshot this for August 21 (a.k.a. Eclipse Day, y’all). There’s going to be more than •just the eclipse• to see (no telescope required) in the sky during the 2 min. + 36 sec. of darkness at 2:41 p.m.

⭐ Stars | The two brightest, most visible stars will be Regulus + Sirius, but other unnamed stars will also be within eyesight.

🌎 Planets | Mercury, Venus, Mars + Jupiter will all be visible.

🌘 Corona | A corona of gases will form a bright white halo around the dark sun, which will appear just as bright as a full moon.

UofSC scientists will be observing the eclipse to note the effects that sunspots + other solar disturbances have on Earth life, plus the link between Sun storms and our planet’s climate – and their potential interference with satellites + space stations.
