Get Meals on Wheels rolling again

Senior Resources

For 50 years, Senior Resources has been helping the elderly across the Midlands maintain self sufficiency + continue living at home — via programs that provide care like cooking, cleaning, etc.; including Meals on Wheels.

A recent a shortage of funding + volunteers has left 100 senior citizens on a waiting list for Meals on Wheels. 75% of their 400+ clients are widowed women living alone, and the program has reached its capacity.

Here’s how you can help. Volunteer to deliver meals. Volunteers are asked to pick up meals within a set timeframe (10:30-11:45 a.m.), and deliveries take under an hour. During the holidays, Families Helping Families gives locals the opportunity to sponsor a senior citizen, providing basic care items + holiday companionship. This year, Senior Resources is hosting a Golden Age Gala fundraising event — with an open bar + live music.
