Summertime is the best time to stretch yourself – whether you’re a kid or an adult. Learn a new skill. Take a course that scares you. Make new friends. Get out of your comfort zone.

Hammond offers 150+ camps and programs for adults and kids right here in Columbia – so there’s no excuse *not* to learn something new.

For the kids, Hammond’s Hawk Ridge Camp is one of their star Summer Programs. It’s a day camp for children ages 3 through rising 6th graders (broken up by age), chock-full of fun experiences – from educational field trips + experimental talent shows to swimming lessons + dress-up days. The goal is to help kids build self-esteem, make friends, learn + have fun through enriching activities.

Focus areas range from science + technology to sports + theatre. The programming is really well-rounded, so parents can find that just-right balance of a camp that’s challenging, but not too intimidating; safe, but that’s not too uptight; flexible but enriching. In fact, Hawk Ridge was voted The State’s “Best Summer Camp” in 2017.

(Plus, all Summer Programs offer a lunch program, so you don’t have to worry about making PB+J’s before work every day.)

The weeklong sessions kick off June 4 and last until August 3 (closed the week of July 2-6). Sessions and attendance options are super flexible – see all the options here. We love the flexibility.

For the adults, Hammond’s Summer Programs include skill-building courses like private tennis lessons, voice lessons, Advanced Robotics programs for STEM careers, immersive Spanish language camp + more. See the full enrichment course catalog here.

You can learn more about Hammond’s Summer Programs via Facebook, Twitter + Instagram; online, or by calling the Auxiliary Programs Office at 803.726.6413.
