Hey, Cola, Lauren here. If you know me, you probably know how much I love ice cream, especially in the summer. Columbia’s heat brings the need to cool down + honestly, what better treat to do the trick than ice cream? 🍦

For all of our fellow ice cream lovers, we’ve put together a round-up of spots around Columbia to grab ice cream + other cool treats to keep you from melting this summer.

Warning: if you have a sweet tooth, please proceed with caution.

Epworth Ice Cream | Multiple Locations

Not only does it taste great, this ice cream also benefits the Epworth Children’s Home + comes in flavors for everyone.

Ice Bachi | 100 Columbiana Circle

Located in the Columbiana Mall, this spot has picture-perfect rolled ice cream treats.

Kaminsky’s Dessert Café | 930 Gervais St.

The adult milkshakes + chocolate chip cookie sundaes will leave you satisfied + craving more all at the same time.

Manny’s | 1228 Augusta Rd., West Columbia

This local spot is a hit for shaved ice, milkshakes, fruit cocktail, chicharron preparado, corn in cup + more. Plus, we hear the elote is a must-try.

Pelican’s SnoBalls | Multiple Locations

This shaved ice chain features over 100 flavors to choose from, from classics like blue raspberry + strawberry to unique flavors like toothpaste + dill pickle.

This boozy ice cream company is located right here in Cola + the bourbon caramel hits the spot.

Rare Variety Café | 4622 N Main St.

This newly-opened café and shop serves up vegan ice cream.

Rosewood Dairy Bar | 3003 Rosewood Dr.

All you need to know about this one: swirl cone with rainbow sprinkles.

Scoopy Doo | 725 Saluda Ave.

Check out this local spot for some handmade gelato + sorbetto. With an array of flavors that frequently change (like blackberry brandy + pistachio), there’s a flavor for everyone.

Sweet Cream Company | 1627 Main St.

This local company makes small-batch ice cream and constantly rotates its fresh, unique flavors. Some of our favorites? Cherry coke + blueberry mojito sorbet.

Sweet Pea’s Ice Cream Parlor | 412 McNulty St., Blythewood

Sweet Pea’s ice cream can be found in Blythewood + traveling around Cola with its food truck. Feeling hungry? Try a triple scoop in a waffle cone.

The Baked Bear | 631 Harden St. Ste. C

These ice cream sandwiches will satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth. Pro tip: an M&M cookie, chocolate chip cookie + bear batter ice cream make a good combo.

The Lick | 1602 Marina Rd. A, Irmo

What better way to cool off than an ice cold popsicle made with fresh, natural ingredients? While The Lick’s Lake Murray location is currently closed, you can find them every weekend at Soda City.

Zesto of West Columbia | 504 12th St., West Columbia

You’ll never go wrong with a classic chocolate dipped cone from Zesto’s.
