Lowes Foods opened its first Midlands location in Lexington last month. Forest Drive gets one next year. Needless to say, people are into it. And now, the Carolinas-born gourmet grocery store is officially kid-tested + Lexington Mommy-approved. Why?

🍏 Community | It’s interactive – there are bacon-pimento cheese cooking demonstrations + kids’ workshops. Check out the Community Table event calendar at the front of the store.

🍐 The people | The baggers at the checkout counter are happy to be there ...and will gladly show you the way to the beer den.

🍋 Drink while you shop | Speaking of the beer den, Lowes Foods buggies are equipped with cupholders for the local + craft beer, wine and coffee served there.

🍊 History | Little pieces of Lowes Foods history sit throughout the store – like prints of the last train that ran from Lowes Foods’ birthplace, Wilkesboro, to Winston Salem.

🍌 Pick & Prep | No one has time to mince fresh garlic. This section has fresh food already cut, diced, spiraled – you name it. They also have fresh-pressed juices + fruit-infused waters.

🍉 Freshness | You can pick fresh oregano directly from the soil at the in-store herb garden.

🍓 Kids can be kids | There’s a set of hanging pots + pans for kids to play with while you wait on your bread to be sliced.

See all 17 reasons why.
