Make Finlay Park play again

City Council has approved a $175,000 plan for a new playground in Finlay Park, aiming to open by July. The playground equipment mockup shows a slide, climbing structures + other modern-looking pieces in lime green and neutral brown colors.

The playground got the greenlight in advance of an informally-discussed ~$20-million plan to renovate Finlay Park – complete with a larger, “Disneyland”-like a playground, fountain reboot and maybe even a man-made beach.

If a more elaborate playground gets the go-ahead as part of Finlay Park redevelopment, the equipment from the current playground plan can be moved to another City park.
