What is Saving Cents?

Welcome to our Saving Cents series, in partnership with South State Bank, where we publish anonymous peeks into locals’ personal finance habits, spending, and savings goals over the course of seven days.

Why track your spending and publish it for a bunch of strangers to see? Glad you asked. Our series is a great starting point to see what you spend your money on, so you can start a budget, hold yourself accountable for your financial habits, or learn how to better save for that house or vacation you’ve been eyeing.

Plus, reading others’ savings goals can be inspirational for your own – and reading their impulse spends can be relieving that you’re not the only one who can’t leave Target under $200.

Saving Cents is volunteer-based and accepts submissions from all demographics, including age and income level. Everything submitted, besides name + email for contact purposes, will be published. By submitting, you agree to our terms and conditions.

How do I submit?

Write down your spending each day from Monday through Sunday, then report back to us via the Saving Cents form below with all of the details.

What info do I need to provide or track?

Ready?
