As special counsel Robert Mueller continues his investigation into possible Russian influence on the 2016 U.S. presidential election, S.C. representatives (and all individuals under investigation) have been encouraged to cooperate.
Mueller’s investigation has led to an indictment of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates. The two men pleaded not guilty and were placed on house arrest.
S.C. Senator Lindsey Graham co-sponsored a bill to shield Mueller from removal, but said Monday he doesn’t think Mueller will be fired + sees no urgency in passing the law.
While Rep. Trey Gowdy didn’t comment on the indictments themselves, he encouraged Republicans to “give the guy a chance to do his job.”
