Observed annually on the first Friday of October, this day is meant to celebrate the industry and inspire those who may be interested in pursuing careers in manufacturing.

The USC’s South Caroliniana Library, the nation’s oldest freestanding academic library, is set to reopen following a $10 million, four-year renovation. This Columbia landmark, dating back to 1840, serves as a space for SC’s history, with collections ranging from the Colonial Era to the present.

Columbia hosts the 2023 Ultimate Long Drive World Championship at Par Tee Golf Center from Oct. 4-8, spotlighting global athletes and boosting local tourism.

Hotel Trundle, the award-winning boutique hotel in downtown Cola, announced plans to open the Flutter Wing — a new block of rooms located around the corner from the flagship hotel that will overlook Main Street and the Columbia Museum of Art.

This year’s SC State Fair will take place Wednesday, Oct. 11, and run through Sunday, Oct. 22.
