Shoppes on Main, a high-end retail operation with 20-30 vendors, is moving into the old Agapé Pharmacy at 1626 Main St., next door to Michael’s, and will most likely open by the end of Octoberas part of the revitalization of the 1600 block of Main. (The pharmacy sign will stay, but with “Shoppes on Main” added underneath.)

Rumored vendors of the emporium-style Shoppes are Ally & Eloise Bakeshop, Charles Albert, Fripp & Folly, The Naked Bee, Spartina 449, Tocca + Petit Collage – all under one roof, with a centralized checkout point. (Like the Shoppes at Farmers Hardware in Boone, N.C.)

The revitalization of Main St. (as a whole) is what will keep people coming to the area. The goal is to eventually extend into the 1700 block (boutique grocery store, Local Yocal, is coming soon to 1712 Main St.), then continue down to Elmwood + cross the street to connect into what’s happening in NoMa.
