Four new local businesses to try in Columbia

As part of Small Business Week, we are shouting out a few new local businesses in Columbia that opened earlier this year. Long live local businesses. May these 2025-founded businesses still be here when it’s 2125 and even longer than that.

To celebrate Small Business Week, our team garnered information about local businesses, and out of the ~80 businesses that participated, four of them opened this year. Today, we’re highlighting the new businesses on the block.

2025 businesses

Rest & Replenish Bodywork | Opened in February, Rest & Replenish Bodywork is owned + operated by Jazmine Jones, who blends clinical expertise with intentional touch to restore balance and enhance overall well-being. For Small Business Week (May 4-10), enjoy $10 off gift cards of $75 or more, and $20 off gift cards of $150 or more.

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks | Owned by a Philadelphia native, Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks opened in March in Five Points, bringing authentic Philly cheesesteaks to Columbia. City Editor David tried the Big Dave’s Way cheesesteak — the signature 18-inch sandwich stacked with three cheeses, onions, peppers, and mushrooms on an Amoroso roll. Pro tip — the owner says to try the cheese steak eggrolls.

PowerHouse Cycle & HIIT | Speaking of March openings — PowerHouse Cycle & HIIT opened March 1 and is a spin + strength training studio offering an inclusive space for anyone looking to begin or continue their fitness journey. During Small Business Week, PowerHouse is offering a free week of classes.

1902 The Vineyard | So new, it doesn’t even have a website created just yet. Located at 1902 Airport Blvd. in West Columbia, 1902 The Vineyard shared that it is “an adorable venue that features a quaint interior with space for elegance in a warm, inviting atmosphere. With cozy nooks for intimate conversations, this venue provides the perfect backdrop.” Stay tuned.
