Mornin’, Cola. Kayla here, 6AM Branded Content Creator. Music is vital when I’m (slowly) running around Cola. My workout playlist is a perpetual work-in-progress that was born in 2012. It cares not about genre, going from Cardi B to Green Day, Sia to Queen, Rage Against the Machine to Lizzo.

What’s on your playlist? Prisma Health Midlands Foundation wants to know – so much so that they made a new collaborative Spotify playlist that walkers and runners can pound the pavement and their fists to during the 29th Walk for Life and Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon, 5K + 10K, presented by Nephron Pharmaceuticals.

This year’s Walk for Life will be held Saturday, October 12 + kicks off at Segra Park. 7,000+ walkers and runners from across the country are anticipated to participate in the event, led by Prisma Health Midlands Foundation, with proceeds funding a ninth 3D mammography unit that will help detect breast cancer sooner. In its 29-year history, Walk for Life has raised more than $10 million for breast cancer technology, care + early detection.

So – what are your next steps?

  1. Register.

All are welcome to register as an individual ($35+) or team, from serious runners wanting to beat their current PR to families wanting to go walk together for a great cause. Registration includes the cult favorite t-shirt for walkers and runners – check out the evolution of the t-shirt design over the years in this video, which also unveils this year’s design (feat. Cola’s city skyline). Pro tip: Wear your 2019 Walk for Life shirt to the S.C. State Fair Oct. 12 or 13 + get in for free.

  1. Add your jams to the Walk for Life playlist.

Add your favorite walking/running jams to the official Spotify playlist by opening it up in your Spotify app (create a free account here if you don’t already have one), adding the playlist to your library, then clicking on your favorite jams in your own library and adding them to the collaborative playlist. *Note: Please keep your song choices non-explicit.

  1. Share the love.

Share the collaborative playlist with friends so they too can contribute music that gets them movin’. And don’t forget to click “Going” on the Facebook event + check out our list of five ways to prep. Want more info on the event? We have that too.

Bonus: Click below to enter our giveaway now through Sept. 17 for a chance to win a Walk for Life package valued at $500+ with two free registrations, a bright pink fanny pack + more. See you there. We’ll be the ones wearing pink. 💕
