West Columbia has become the place to be for doing biz. The number of business licenses issued by the City of West Columbia has steadily increased for 6 straight years (from 1,606 in 2011 ➡️ to 2,198 in 2016), and biz expected to grow from here. ❓Why?❓
🏗 Big biz: The Brookland Project – a multi-million dollar complex (commercial, retail + residential) being built by Estates and Co. Inc. on the high-profile corner of State St. + Meeting St. – is “helping transform” West Cola. When completed, it’ll offer upscale dining, shops, office spaces + a view of the Cola skyline.
💡 Great minds: The City of West Columbia is pro-business, with a forward-thinking staff.
🏙 Booming areas: The Georgetown Plaza on Highway 1 (a.k.a. Augusta Highway, a high-traffic area) is filling up quickly + being surrounded with new biz, like McAlister’s Deli and Batteries and Bulbs Plus. The Sunset Boulevard section of town is also successful, with Lexington Medical Center in the middle of the growth and a new Lexington Two school in-progress. Officials say all this growth could also help Triangle City (home of the OG Zesto’s) realize its full potential.
