So, the UofSC football game was moved from Saturday, and maybe the event you were looking forward to this weekend was canceled. No need to fret — here are five things to do in Columbia on a rainy day that you can do instead. ☔️

🍿 Catch a movie

The Nickelodeon Theatre | ~$10 | Is there anything better than catching a matinee on a dreary day? Instead of re-watching reruns on Netflix, head out to The Nick for a movie day. (ProTip: They serve beer + wine.)

🔭 Peruse a museum

Columbia Museum of Art | $5-10 or free for members and children six + under | Spend a rainy day in the CMA on Main Street with permanent and rotating galleries and workshops for adults.

South Carolina State Museum | $4-19.95 or free for children two and under | After you’ve exhausted the four floors of SC history, art, natural history, science + technology, stop in the planetarium theater to experience one of its rotating shows .

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Keep the kids off of their tablets

Plex HiWire | $9-22 | Get some of your kids’ energy out, and after an afternoon at the indoor trampoline park, everyone can take cozy rain-naps at home afterwards.

Richland Library | Free | When in doubt, explore your local library. Check out their list of children’s programming + events or see the many things it has to offer, here . Note: Richland Library will be closed today, but plans to be open tomorrow, Sat., Oct. 1.
