Mayor’s Minute: A thank you note.

As we recover from the effects of Tropical Storm Irma in our city, I’d like to take the time to thank all of the personnel in our city who keep us safe during these times of trouble.

From our first responders to our staff in public works and the partners who help us respond quickly to calls for service, our city is nothing without the people who give us the ability to serve the needs of our citizens in all types of circumstances.

We are reminded of how strong are city is in our toughest times. Please remain safe.

God Bless,

I’m beyond thankful Irma deteriorated from a Cat. 4 hurricane to a Tropical Storm before touching down in S.C. But with a community like we have in the Midlands, I knew we could join together to overcome anything.

I am a little upset Irma took our cool, fall weather with her though – it’s supposed to back up in the high 80s by the end of the week. Ugh.
