ICYMI, there’s a giant pink inflatable sculpture hanging over the entrance of the Columbia Museum of Art on Hampton Street. “What is it?” you might ask. “Balloons? Bubbles? A butt?”

Perhaps all of the above. The sculpture is part of the new Wow Pop Bliss exhibition by Cleveland-based artist Jimmy Kuehnle, on display now through Sept. 8 at the CMA.

Wow Pop Bliss is a fun, one-of-a-kind, interactive experience. And just this once, you can touch the art. (We’re not talking “take a sledgehammer to it” touching. More like “pet a kitten” touching.) The exhibition fills four galleries with touchable, interactive environments using inflatables that combine, sound, light, space, and texture to create unexpected experiences for visitors as they move under, through, and around the works.

This is serious art that is seriously playful – and has to be experienced in person.

Click here to watch a video sneak peek of the exhibition (plus a look at how Kuehnle makes his pieces) + to start planning your CMA trip before the show closes on September 8.
