Self-Care Sunday | provided by Columbia Museum of Art

Reading, yoga, running, therapy, a bubble bath… add a trip to the art museum to your list of self-care activities.

The Columbia Museum of Art is hosting Self-Care Sunday this Sunday, June 30, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. It’s a restorative, free event (for all ages) at the CMA + on Boyd Plaza, featuring several wellness-focused activities for your mind, heart + body. Ommm.

Here are all the event details:

  • Mindful movement and yoga sessions beginning every half hour, 9-10:30 a.m.
  • Open-air market featuring Soak and Soy, Things by Demetria, and Apothecary by Kelsey Pearle
  • Food + bev available from A Peace of Soul Vegan Kitchen, The Favored Life Kombucha Bar, and Curiosity Coffee Bar
  • Galleries open + free from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • The Art of Balance, a guided tour exploring light and dark, chaos and calm, and decadence and austerity in the CMA collection at 11 a.m.
  • Shannon Ivey of #WhatSheSaid Project leading Theater of the Oppressed exercises at 12 p.m. (theater techniques + games that seek to motivate people, restore true dialogue, and create space for participants to rehearse taking action)
  • 10% off in the CMA Shop

Did we mention it’s free? Super cool. The project is supported by a grant from the Knight Foundation Fund and by a Connected Communities grant at Central Carolina Community Foundation.

See more info here + RSVP to the Facebook event.
