Who is Columbia, S.C.’s doppelganger city?

We all know most celebrities don’t do their own stunts – they have doppelganger “stunt doubles” who stand in for them. And the same goes for a lot of city locations where movies “take place.”

So, what if Columbia needed a “stand-in?” Who would be our doppelganger city?

Maybe a place with a similar riverwalk area or Main Streets that resemble one another. Who, too, has a major University in the heart of their downtown? (Hook ’em Horns.) Or an iconic bridge going across their river? (Think smaller scale than the Brooklyn Bridge over the East River.)

I’ve spent some time in Columbus, Ga. and think part of it resembles Columbia. Both towns float their rivers (Chattahoochee River vs. Congaree River). And those said rivers are near their downtown districtsthat each host a Saturday morning market. Both cities have a lot of local history (both having been former mill towns) and are near well-known military bases. They also both have under-the-radar food scenes worth raving about.

I mean tell me these don’t look similar.

But we want to know what y’all think. 👇
