Taking the kids out for a family night often requires a gameplan far in advance, so any activity with a schedule is a lifesaver. Enter: Fireflies games (especially on Friday + Saturday nights.)

Leave the planning at home this weekend, but be sure to remember these things:

Pick your night. The Fireflies moved Saturday night games up to 6:05 p.m. this season just for families with little kids – so plan for that night if you have early bedtimes. Friday games start at 7:05.

Pick your seats + pay for your tickets in advance so you can head straight to the game. Click here for the Fireflies’ schedule. Bonus: Kids two + under get in free.

Snag $4 parking in the general parking lots and take a trolley that drops in front of Spirit Communications Park. Kids (and, well, we) love riding with the open windows.

When you get to the field, first thing’s first: find the drink specials. Head to the Craft Corner beer stand in Right Field for a Luminescent Lager (a light beer made just for the Fireflies by River Rat Brewery), a brew from Columbia Craft or the Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Shandy. Click here to see all the beer stand locations + what they have. 🍻 If you’re more of a cocktail person, hit up the pineapple drink stand near the First Base Building. 🍹

Once you have a drink in hand, take the kids over to the State Credit Union Kids Zone to run out some energy before grabbing a bite to eat. $1 gets you 1 ticket for activities like jump houses, an obstacle course, a giant slide, baseball throws and soccer kicks.

Head to a concessions stand for all the classics for the kids (chicken fingers, hot dogs, fries) and some more ~mature~ options for you (Nashville hot chicken, street tacos, chicken Caesar wrap).

If you, er, your kids still have a sweet tooth, grab some ice cream or Dippin’ Dots in a Fireflies helmet cup from one of the stands. Pro tip: Can be reused as an on-the-go dog water bowl.

Let the kids feel really special and stick around after the game for fireworks, happening each Friday + Saturday game in August (Aug. 10 show presented by South State Bank). 🎆 Thank yourself come Saturday morning when your kids actually sleep past 5 a.m.

P.S. 👜 Spirit Communications Park allows backpacks, bags + purses (read: diaper bags) inside the stadium, but they’ll be searched before entering. Strollers + baby carriers are also permitted inside the ballpark, but strollers aren’t allowed in the seating bowl, so you can store yours at Guest Services during the game or sit at a picnic table along the concourse.
