We already know Columbia is a strong, loving, and giving community — now’s your chance to let that giving spirit shine. Sun., Aug. 28 marks the start of Give 8/28, an annual giving campaign that supports Black-led and Black-benefiting nonprofits — both nationally and locally across the Midlands.
In honor of Black Philanthropy Month, Central Carolina Community Foundation invites Soda Citizens to help support Black-focused nonprofits by donating now through Wed., Aug. 31. CCCF will award up to $10,000 to Black-led-and-benefiting nonprofits that raise funds on the Midlands Gives year-round platform during the month of August.
How to participate:
- CCCF’s easy-to-use Midlands Gives online platform features a section of 133 local Black-led or Black-benefiting nonprofits.
- Looking for a specific org to support? Use search filters to find nonprofits by category or county.
- You don’t have to be a millionaire to make an impact in the community. Community members can add any organization to their “shopping cart” with a donation of $10 or more (think: just two trips to your favorite local coffee shop — which can add up if you encourage your friends to donate, too).*
