The holidays can be one of the most heartwarming yet stressful – times of year. Fun gatherings with friends + family often also mean hours of cleaning and preparing for guests to arrive. And that’s arguably not even the most stressful part – then you have to figure out what to your that aunt when she asks why you’re single.

Blogger Jeanne Reynolds offers some tips on how to cope with mental health issues that often come with the stresses of the hectic holiday season:

  • Take a deep breath | Consider trying out a relaxing activity, like yoga, to take your mind off things
  • Go outside | Getting some fresh air could change your perspective
  • Make a list | Jot down a list of things to do to help you keep track of your progress, or simply make a list of all the positive things in your life to remind you of what you do have
  • Start anywhere | If you’ve got a large task ahead of you, sometimes the hardest part is just getting started – take it one step at a time by starting with a small task
  • Let it be | Some things are out of your control – sometimes, doing nothing is okay
