Cottontown’s new pizza restaurant Il Focolare is officially kicking off their grand opening celebration today – and they’re giving Soda Citizens a daily “treasure hunt” through the end of the year – that not only celebrates their love of pizza, but their love of Columbia, too.

Each day, they’ll hide at least one #KeyToOurHearth pizza keychain in historical, cultural or arts locations around the city and in different neighborhoods (in hopes of encouraging people to venture out to a new area of town).

Here’s how it works:

  • Check Il Focolare’s Instagram every morning for a new clue leading you to the day’s hiding spot. On occasions, you’ll also find clues via COLAtoday – so always be on the lookout.
  • Once you find the pizza keychain, snap a selfie and post it on social media – tagging @ilfocolarepizzeria + @colatoday.
  • Then, bring the keychain to Il Focolare (2150 Sumter St.) for $10 off your order.
  • Bonus: Share the wealth with your friends by tagging them in the daily clues. Super fans are rewarded too.

Here are what the keychains look like:

But that’s not all. Monday, Dec. 2 begins their “12 Days of Pizza” – when every day for 12 days 12 different retailers around Cola (spotlighting biz owners of color or that are woman-owned) will have 12 keychains for the first 12 customers.

Ready for Clue #1?

There are many ways to say I love you – like adding pepperoni to your white pizza or showing kindness to a friend. But nothing says it better than the newest public art installation in The Vista. Where am I?
