Celebrating International Beer Day in Columbia, SC

Today is International Beer Day, and thanks to your help we have a name for the new Steel Hands Brewery guava hefeweizen. But we will come back to that.

First things, first — let’s talk about some new releases for you to sip on this weekend and in the near future.

Angry Fish Brewing — Harbor Side Hazy IPA, Lighthouse Hefeweizen, and Crooked Creek Hazy IPA will be pouring soon in the taproom.

Columbia CraftGoing To Need A Bigger Cucumber is sour ale with cucumber, which is 1 of the original sour ales.

Hazelwood BreweryMixed Berry Jam and Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler are returning soon along with Martian Milk Milkshake IPA. The Lexington brewery has a collaboration in the works with Bierkeller in October to brew a Steinbier Lager, which will be released at Steinfest when the new biergarten will also be completed.

River Rat Brewery Helles Bock is a strong lager with a slightly malty finish to give you those fall flavors we are anxiously waiting for. The weekly Hit It or Quit It release is a 1- off keg that is shared every Wednesday.

Savage Craft Ale Works — A Cranberry Black Currant Sour will be ready very soon.

Love You Not Sour IPA — 6.5% abv, is a Blood Orange Sour Ale + a twist on the Banger IPA, blending 2 flavors together.

Steel Hands BrewingTomorrow, Soda Citizens can sip on the taproom release of Guava Lava, which is the winning beer name out of 200+ votes, at the Luau Party. There is also a traditional Hefeweizen on the menu in addition to the new Guava Hefeweizen.
