7th annual Midlands Gives is happening virtually on May 5, 2020

Supporting our community is more important than ever. Luckily, Midlands Gives 2020 is still on. 🎉 The seventh annual online day of giving is happening Tues., May 5, 6 a.m.-11:59 p.m. with 408 local nonprofits participating.

Since its inception in 2014, Midlands Gives has raised $9.3 million for hundreds of local nonprofits across the Midlands.

Local nonprofits are struggling financially due to the impact of COVID-19. From the cancellation + postponement of fundraising events to an absence of volunteers to increased demand for services, nonprofit resources have been extremely strained. Donations made during Midlands Gives can help these organizations overcome COVID-19 and receive the support they need to keep their doors open.

How to participate:

This year’s Midlands Gives will take place entirely online to ensure the safety of all participants (vs. past years when online giving was paired with in-person events).

  1. Bookmark the virtual giving platform for giving on May 5 (or giving starting today, for you early birds). Donations made today forward will “count” in the leaderboard totals on Midlands Gives day. The platform features a leaderboard, prize tracker + searchable profiles of all participating nonprofits (and it’s easy to use from a mobile device or desktop).
  2. Add multiple organizations to your online “shopping cart.” You can donate sums of your choice starting at only $10 (reduced from prior years’ minimum donation of $20).
  3. Create a Champion Page. These allow donors to fundraise for specific nonprofits. You might set one up to ask for donations instead of presents for your quarantine birthday, or to host one as a company to give to your employees’ favorite nonprofits.
  4. Use MidlandsGives.org year-round. The platform will reopen for year-round giving on Wed., May 13. ICYMI, Midlands Gives transformed into a year-round platform in 2019 to amplify the reach of the one-day event and offer features like donation eCards and recurring donations.
