There’s a sidewalk art gallery coming to Columbia’s Lady St.

Pond & Companyan architecture, interior, and engineering firm – was chosen as the winner of the Play With Your City 2019: Reimagining Lady competition by the Columbia Design League (CDL). Their design is slated to be implemented in October.

Here’s what it is:

  • Shaded, modular units along Lady St. that showcase local artists’ work and use interactive technology to tell the history of Columbia + its people.
  • Equipped with solar lighting so each unit becomes a nightlife feature and point of safety.
  • Bright, multi-colored reflective paint on the sidewalks – hoped to excite pedestrians and guide them towards The Vista + encourage drivers to slow down.
