Shop local = Shop Carolina 🍅

There’s no debating that we love Lowes Foods. Drinking a beer while grocery shopping is pretty much our favorite after-work activity. But we also love that we’re supporting local farms + purveyors when we shop, too.

Lowes Foods’ “Shop Carolina” initiative makes an extra-special effort to feature farms and small brands from the Midlands and S.C. in Lowes Foods stores, which puts money back into the local + state economy. Here are a few local products you can find on their shelves:

🍤 Mother Shucker from Columbia // the cocktail sauce “famously created at Oyster Bar” in the Vista by a mother + son duo

🍎 Adams Apple Eatables from Lexington // apple butters (pumpkin!), jams (apple pie!) + gift boxes (with commemorative spoons!)

🌱 Rawl Farms from Lexington County // produce grown by the Rawl family since 1948; now one of the biggest leafy green growers in the Southeast (their collards are served at Lizards Thicket)

🐝 Bee Well Honey from Pickens // wildflower honey in a bunch of different sizes, including those cute bear containers (this Upstate store also sells beekeeping equipment and holds kombucha making classes)

🌶 Bobby’s Seasonings from Fountain Inn // three flavors of seasonings made by Tay Nelson (Tay + his biz co-owner/wife Sarah are opening a restaurant in Fountain Inn this summer)

🐓 Amick Farms in Monetta // locally-bred, corn-fed chicken

🍑 Titan Farms from Ridge Spring // peaches from a 5,800-acre peach farm between Columbia + Augusta (they participate in the H2-A temporary worker visa program)

Shop Lowes Foods at 5222 Sunset Blvd. + 2440 Augusta Hwy., Lexington.
