Our ideal Saturday: Live music, all of the snacks, bar hopping between multiple venues, giant Jenga, our dog in tow. While you may think of them primarily as Friday/Saturday night spots, Tin Roof + The Senate are working hard on becoming your next day party destination with all of these things on deck for 2019.

The sister companies are partnering to host more outdoor, block party-style events in their block of The Vista with live music, games (think: cornhole + life-sized Jenga) and food + drink out on pup-friendly patios, similar to their Vista After 5 series and their special events for New Year’s Eve, March Madness + Cinco de Mayo. If you’ve ever been to one of these events, you’ll get why they’re calling their section of The Vista “Columbia’s unofficial live music block.”

Their newest event is Roofstock this Saturday, June 22, starting at 1 p.m.: a free outdoor block party with live music on two stages by three Columbia bands, plus cocktails + scratch-made Southern food for purchase. It’s free for all ages until 9 p.m., then $5 and 21+.

Let’s talk about the food. Tin Roof has recently revamped their menu, thanks to bringing in the chef of the original location in Nashville. The menu features new items like biscuit sliders, loaded tots, a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, salads, chicken ‘n waffles, and a dish called Candy Pig Mac & Cheese with brown sugar bacon + jalapeno queso. (Our team went a few weeks ago and even the self-proclaimed ‘usual vegetarian’ devoured this one.) Menu here.

Bonus: Happy Hour means half-off apps + several drink specials, and it runs Monday, 4 p.m.-close and Tuesday-Friday, 4-7 p.m. And of course, both businesses continue to host weekly + weekend events, including karaoke nights, themed trivia + live DJs. But now you know you can plan your next Sunday Funday there, too.
